Dating back to 1890, Opinel is a brand that's been making quality knives since the brand was started by Joseph Opinel out of Savoie, France. Opinel started their story with the iconic No. 8 Knife; still in their line today, this knife has a streamlined construction that hasn't changed since its original creation over a decade ago. After they found success in this design, Opinel expanded the line with sizes of this knife ranging from one all the way to twelve. Gaining success with everyone from farmers to railroad workers, Opinel was able to open a factory for larger production, and by the beginning of Word War II, they had sold a little over 20 million knives. Opinel has been able to ride this same wave of success and they've continued to make the same knives that originally made them famous, and while they've expanded their line to include a ton of great products, you can always count on their original No. 8 Knife.
